Safe Masonry

Tallahassee Community College (TCC) and its partner, the Florida Masonry Apprenticeship & Educational Foundation (FMAEF), were awarded a one-year $188,000 United States Department of Labor (USDOL), Office of Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Susan Harwood Grant in 2007.

The purpose of the grant is to provide free Safety training with an emphasis on falls and back injuries in North Florida to the masonry industry serving 400 employees and 75 employers (supervisors). The grant covers 34 counties (see counties noted on map below).
